Possibly buying used Eris - but with which ROM?

I'm going to buy a used Eris to hold me over since my blackberry finally died (not sure what phone I want to upgrade to just yet, didn't like Bionic). Anyway, found on online and the guy is offering it with a choice of the following roms:

- the original Verizon rom, Android 2.1, HTC Sense - Cyanogenmod 7, Android 2.3.5, with LauncherPro - Gin Sen Tazz 14, Android 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1

Can anyone tell me which rom would be the best one to do?

Thanks.

Boy. That's hard to answer.

I rooted and installed a Cyanogen based ROM because the stock, Sense based build (and ROMs that were based on it) were problematic for me. The dialer gets laggy, as does the messaging app. Calendar event notifications would not dismiss reliably for me, so they kept going off every five minutes.

What do you plan to do with your phone? That may suggest the best way to go.

Also, if you are going to choose a CM7 ROM, ask the seller if he/she is willing to install GSB or CondemnedSoul's CM7 ROMs instead of Tazz's. Tazz hasn't updated his for a while. If you want Sense, ask if he/she is willing to install xtrSENSE rather than stock - it's far better.

I'd stay away from GinSenTazz - it's fun to try out, but I think it's not easy to use as an everyday phone.
