Droid 4, standard JB 4.1.2, has never been rooted or anything but stock.

Recently, it started coughing up "Unfortunately, (app) has stopped" messages. First, in Google Maps, when trying to go to navigation. Then, in Calendar, when trying to go into an agenda item. Every time.

I figured I'd do a Factory Data Reset, but it always ends up on a blank screen and the "Unfortunately, Setup has stopped" message...either from the menus or from the POWER/VOL UP/VOL DOWN method to get to the recovery menu.

One oddity: On that blank screen, the notification bar still shows the "4G" indicator, the signal meter, the battery indicator and the time.

Even odder: It will still receive incoming phone calls, and I can make outgoing calls if I have an incoming call and "add a call".

Any help or thoughts before I head to the VZW store tomorrow AM?

I can boot into Safe Mode, but all it does is add those words on the screen with the blank screen and the "Unfortunately, Setup has stopped" message as mentioned above.

Oy. Get thee to the Verizon Store.

I was doing some Google searching, and someone somewhere said it might be a bad memory problem...so maybe I'm stuck having to go to the store. :(

And maybe not. Flashed a stock ROM recovery file (SBF) to it, and it works so far...thank you for trying to help, but it does look like it works now! (Am reinstalling minimal apps and such.)
