post lollipop update-keyboard microphone will not stay put!

Is this just me or is everyone experiencing it.

It used to be I could click on the gear and it would allow me to choose my input. Now, I can choose my input but after I choose microphone it pops up the google voice input and then reverts to the gear box after I am done.

No, I have it too. This is a big enough issue for mee--since I use the microphone button about 50 times a day--that I'll quite Android if it's not fixed.

The swipe keyboard does lock in the microphone, but sacrifices the number row on top....
