Not ants. I think they're called antlions .

Funny, I just ran across a post of the same thing in the "What is this thing?" FB group that I'm in. It was posted a few days ago, but I hadn't seen it yet. Antlion was the consensus there as well. Going to have to find some ants to try to catch it in action.

Edit: Doh! I forgot I took those pics shortly before I reseeded and put straw down and started watering. Didn't see any holes there anymore.

Lol. I worked offshore for 20 years. This is a big one .

It's only a 40 minute flight to Ireland. Wee turbo prop is perfect.

Funnily enough it's cheaper to fly than take the car over on the ferry. Depends what I need to take with me.
This time it was just a laptop and the ability to drink Guinness.

Avert your eyes if you don't like spiders. Found this big spider hanging on a huge web it spun between our patio umbrella and house. It's really hard to get a good pic of a spider at night. I thought it made a pretty fun spooky silhouette backlit against the bedroom window.
