Potential issue with fast charging

Hey everyone. I have a S23 and I've noticed when plugged into a super fast charger, it will say it's fast charging when I plug it in but after a minute the notification that it is fast charging goes away. It seems like it takes longer than my S22 to charge and I am not sure if it is because it for some reason reverts to regular charging or if it's normal for the notification of fast charging going away.

Does your phone keep the notification on throughout fast charging?

Keep an eye on the charge percentage. Once your battery gets to a certain level (I forget the percentages), it stops fast charging and goes to a slower charging mode in order to keep the battery healthy. That is why most of the time you'll read things like "Charging up to 80% in 30 minutes" and the like since it slows down to top things off and keep the battery healthy. You will not see Fast or Super Fast Charging the whole time.

I'd have to look more, but that is what I recall off the top of my head.

Also check your charger head and cable. It makes a difference, those have to support the fast charging

Thank you very much guys. I'm using the same charger head and cable that worked fine with my S22.

Yeah, it's normal for that message to go away. I think we already have a thread about this... My S23 U goes from 20 to 100 in about 50 minutes with 45W charging. When I first plug the charger in it says "super Fast charging 2" but that goes away after a few seconds.

Is the 45w charger the fastest or is there something newer that the S23 is compatible with?

I'm actually using a 120W charger, but 45W is as fast as the S23U will charge.

Yeah I asked about the same thing. It happened when we got Android 13 on our 22U to I believe. But I did find out this braided long Anker cable I have isn't working but when I use the cable that came with the phone it charges fast even though super fast charging goes away.

I tested the other day my speed never went up after a few minutes swapped cables and in the same amount of time it went up 6 percent or more. But we need heavy braided cables cause our cats chewing on them. Weird thing is it's mostly was the white ones which we don't use anymore.

I think the in box cable only supports 25W, although I've not checked it personally. So if you are using a 45W charger, you'll not get the very minor boost at the start.

Yeah the cable for 45w is slightly larger diameter then 25w
