Power button and up volume button issues

About 40% percent of the time my power button and volume up button aren't recognized when I press them. I'm on Cyanogenmod 12.1 and I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware issue at this point. Has anyone else had issues similar to this? Am I going to have to tear it apart to fix it?
