Maybe it's just me, but wondering if anyone else out there is having issues with their power cord. Mine is working fine, but I have noticed that it is starting to come apart where it connects to the phone. O have 2 cords, both the OEM HTC cords (I had to get a replacement sent to me) and one is pretty much going to snap any day now, and the other one is working its way there.

I'm on my 2nd one which is doing the same thing in the same spot. Seems cheaply made in the particular area. Had an htc incredible charger do the same & a blackberry storm 2 one as well.

My cord is doing the sane thing going to have to get a replacament at some point.

Are you guys talking about the micro usb connector or the port on the phone itself? mine works fine too except the connection doesn't feel to secure. If i accidentally nudge it too hard while charging sometimes it will disconnect. i can't seem to find where the loose connection is from.

I was speaking about the micro USB connector. It does seem pretty cheaply made and as if it will just snap at any day. The plastic has stared coming off the cord and peeling away.

I have the same problem. I can't believe you can pay so much for a complex phone and not only is the cable they include a piece of ****e but the micro USB port on the phone isn't even good quality.

I bought some decent replacement cables online and I've been pretty happy with them. They are thicker, they have gold plated connectors, and they stay plugged in better. I bought two, one 3ft and one 6ft. The best part is they were each under $1.50. Here's links if you want to check them out:

For only $0.90 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 3ft USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated) | USB 2.0 Cables - Micro-B Type

For only $1.17 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 6ft USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/24AWG Cable w/ Ferrite Core (Gold Plated) | USB 2.0 Cables - Micro-B Type

Yeah, man, I see what you mean. Another $0.90 right down the drain becuase of this phone. After a while that could turn into real money. Ahem...

The stock HTC power cord that came with my phone is really loose when it connects to the phone. I switched to the charger I used for my Blackberry and it definitely fits better.

My stock power/sync cable is still in pristine shape. It feels solid on both ends and fits very snug in the phone, the AC charger, or PC. May be I got lucky and got a solid one. Regardless, I always try to be gentle with any type of cable instead of a grab and rip. ;)

Now, you want to see a crappy cable? The device charging cable that comes with the Seidio HTC Thunderbolt Multi Function Battery Charger! It's really thin and feels like it may fall apart just touching it. I only occasionally use it at work if the phone has a low charge. But you have to handle it with kid gloves! The Multi Function Battery Charger works well though. Always have a charged spare battery at the ready. :)

I noticed today that my charger was seeing its final days. It still looks in good shape and even feels that way. I've taken good care of it but it has a short or something in the small end and will only charge if the cable is bent a certain way. I think it is just a crappy cable and may go at any time. It isn't like I've abused it. I just ordered 5 from that monoprice site so hopefully I won't need another ever.

My cable had issues as well. Worked fine and then out of the blue it would quit charging after about 14 seconds. Just switched to a spare random for (cord**) laying around the house and now it works just fine. As far as the stock cable.... Yeah... Pretty cheap. I would have to personally hold the cord in firmly for it to charge without cutting out. Sorry if thats a lengthy post. I'm a little tipsy.... Thank his (god**) for auto_correct. :)
