At thirty percent it doesn't buy you much because it would equalize at 15 percent assuming you gave away half your charge.

I would use that feature sparingly anyway because over time it will diminish your battery capacity if used frequently.

It works, but I can't get it to charge my Gear S2 because it won't lie flat to the phone. I guess it's more for the pods. Neat feature, but I honestly doubt I'll use it much.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe it's only compatible with the Gear S3 and above. I say that because this looks to be the same technology as the charger pad 2018 (which charges either a phone or a watch), and that charger explicitly states it's compatible with the Gear S3 and above.

Well you're discharging the battery so however many charge cycles that adds up to. Not a concern unless you were charging someone's phone frequently. Remember it will only charge till it reaches about 1/2 of what starts out with or the low cutoff point.
