Pre-Installed Apps vs. Greenify

I was wondering why my Greenify would never close Facebook or Instagram.. I uninstalled Facebook a couple of weeks ago and my battery life lasts way more (again).. I go through phases where I have it and then I don't. But I was wondering for weeks why I couldn't Greenify Instagram and it dawned on me yesterday that it was pre-installed. Is there ANY way to Greenify those type of apps?

I haven't used greenify in a long time but I think the only way is with root.
