pre order or not?

Jump on demand is $12 mo th I believe. That's what they told me. Its a service fee where you atent insured but it allows you to upgrade 3 times a year
There are no additional fees for JoD. My paperwork has never shown that and I have 5 lines all on JoD so I would definitely notice that.

I did a JOD on the t mobile chat window, sort of online. There's a technical issue but they're working to resolve that hopefully today

I hate using a phone rep or online rep to do a Jump On Demand upgrade, it takes a lot longer and some of the reps you get sound like English isn't their first language and I have issues with understanding them. I also like to look at my options when I pick them, I hate having someone tell me over the phone what options I have and then making decisions that way.

Also T-Mobile has been "working" on allowing customers to do Jump On Demand upgrades online for over 1 1/2 years now, how long does it take...

Q: Why can’t I get a phone with JUMP! On Demand on T-Mobile.com?

JUMP! On Demand is currently only available in stores and on the phone. We’ll bring it online soon, but it is not quite ready and we want you to have the best possible experience getting your new phone. (https://newsroom.t-mobile.com/news-...g-your-phone-with-jump-and-jump-on-demand.htm)

Well technically JoD isn't supposed to have down payment at all but Legere seems to be going back on his word at this point.

But yes, on JoD the taxes are billed monthly vs up front like regular EIP payment plan. Basically the down payment is a supersized monthly payment so we get taxed on just the $130.

My monthly will be $30 plus tax which is $32.48.

Thanks for the break down!

I couldn't take it anymore so I caved in and pre-ordered the S8. Even thought the plus was roughly the same size as my iPhone 7 plus. I like the size of my S7 edge better. It's more manageable IMO.
The 8+ is only sightly bigger than an s7e

At any rate I was changed over to a regular eip with Jump added so I can jump when device is half paid off, if I choose. On Jump, its $12 a month. When under JOD they'd told me $12/mo also. If they didnt charge a fee at all, not sure how it would be profitable to them to allow you jumping 3 times a year. I'm actually glad I'm on the regular jump now though anyway. Must be various versions of jump, some grandfathered type plans is my guess.

Stopped in to Target and got to see an S8Plus again. Love it.

ha, do you have that UPS app so you can constantly check to see if your S8+ has shipped?

Jump! charges $12 because they added the insurance and gave you lookout for free. There's no insurance on JOD that's why there's no additional charge unless you want to add the insurance.

The main benefit of JOD over Jump! is no upfront taxes or down payment until the BS S8+ money grab T-Mobile just pulled. You walk out or receive your new phone cash/payment free until your bill. You do pay a little more like $5 more per month vs JUMP! This is how they try to get some of their money back from JOD.

To the OP, if you don't pre-order you don't get any pre-order bonuses. So in the end it's better to pre-oder than wait til it's released at the stores. You'll only get the phone while all the pre-order get the free VR.
