Hello everyone I just switched to Android Thursday evening after getting a text stating what HP was doing. I am a Pre - user of just about 2 years now, was going to try and hold on until the Pre 3 or something else Web-Os came along on Sprint lol. I guess I now see that it is not going to happen anytime soon hhhaa. HP took the dream of possibilities away with their announcement.
So off to Sprint I was and left with an HTC Evo 3D!! So far I love it!! I was worried about the touch screen keyboard, it is not as hard to get used to as I thought it might be! I love the screen real-estate! Now I can make good use of my Dish Network Sling Player! I love the option of watching a movie or tv show on it anywhere I may be!! I even get my Netfilx streamed to the phone!! I am now also able to use my Pogo Plug Player to the full benefit of being able to download my comics to the comic reader when I want a new one to read.
I am looking forward to being able to read what the AC has to offer its members with help, and since of community. I will miss the Pre Central group they were wonderful Help for me with my Pre. I still have 4 more Pre's on my account for family members so I guess I will find myself overthere at Pre Central off and on.
So I say thank you AC for being here and I look forward to reading in the forums!!

Well welcome and let the unbrainwashing begin. How android is"clunky "(has anyone ever said exactly what that means?) how android has no multi tasking. Instead of cards all over your screen you tap home button for 2 seconds and there is all your open apps. Oh and synergy,, how you can't sync you're fb friends with your contacts, etc, etc, etc. I left my pre last October for the evo, and got evo 3D 3 days before release date. For me, best phone ever. So take your time, get use to android, and last but not least,,,,, happy unbrainwashing! Lol, p. S, anything webOS can do android can do the same or better.

Thanks for sharing that moving from the Pre is not as bad as it seemed it would be. I'm still pondering my choices and dreading leaving webOS behind.

Dear kimdushinski,

It is more sad that I had to leave. I do have hope for WebOs. At the moment I am on Sprint and there is obviously not going to be any new WebOs phones anytime soon. I made the next logical choice. I am glad that I am trying out the HTC EVO 3D so far I still love it! I do miss the being able to leave multiple windows open to leave notes on one item and going back to another or genuine multitasking. Overall the experience so far as been pleasant on Android. Try one out I think you will be genuinely happy. I love being able to watch something that has flash and not seeing the little block in Pre- saying you need Flash to view.
Good luck with the search for a new phone!

Hey Kim,

I felt the same way. After being spoiled with the simplicity of webOS, I was afraid I could never get used to another OS. But I can say after upgarding to an HTC EVO 4G, I will survive the HP downfall. The Android system, although not a seamless as webOs, performs just as good if not better in some areas the webOS was lagging. Not only with screen real-estate but the upgraded hardware, flash support, and the plethora of apps avilable to the Android community. There is really no reason to stick with the webOS platform for now.

I'm still crossing my fingers for a monster webOS device to come out someday far, far away.

To greener pastures!
