Pressing home button twice used to bring up articles of interest

Now all I get is the Google search bar when I press the home button twice. As far as I know I didn't do or change anything.

Does anyone have any idea why this happened and how to restore the previous action?

Do you remember what app would show up when you double-pressed Home? Was it Google Discovery, or Samsung Free, or Flipboard, or something else?

Samsung Free recently changed to Samsung News, so maybe that might be a reason why the functionality changed?

Also, your sig says you're using an S6 -- is that what you're seeing this on, or the S21 ?

Yikes, I had no idea my signature still had the S6. Yes, this is for the S21U which is my current phone. I don't know what app brought up the news stories. I assume it was something related to Google. And those articles were tailored to my interests as whenever I saw something I was interested in I'd hit the 'heart' icon and I'd see more articles dealing with that subject in the future.

I'm at a loss to understand why this changed and I'd really like to get it back.

Here is an example of what I used to see. I got here by going to my Chrome home page.

That looks like the Google Discover interface. Do you get that if you swipe to the screen left of the main homescreen?

Turns out it was a Nova setting in "gestures and inputs." I had to set to home button action to the Google app.

Thank you guys so much though. You are an amazing resource.
