Pressing too hard on the touch screen

So after I cleaned my HTC One, I decided to put it back in its case. Thing is, putting it in the case is a difficult task and after I had cleaned my phone, I think I might have pressed too hard on the screen to make it fit in its case. After it was in its case, I checked the screen and was working fine but the paranoid side of me thinks I must have broken something. Did I possibly break something or is the phone pretty durable?

If its working as before you removed it from the case then I would not worry about it. BTW which case are you using? UAG case here and it's a tight fit when placing the phone in the case. When doing so I only press on the corners and not the center of the phone.

Incipio case here. I tried to fit it in but then the top right corner wouldn't fit in. So I pressed on the screen's top right side and not on the camera or the area around it because, well, camera.

From the sounds of it I'd say you did the proper install and would not worry about it then. It's a tough phone, unless you drop it
