prices went up for unlocked and developer variants

i was checking the htc website today because i really want to order one but i need to pay back my school first. but i noticed the price for the developer edition and the unlocked versions went up to 700. also on amazon they are over 830 or more. i want one so bad but i really had to convince myself 650 was worth it. more than that is REALLY pushing it.

They've always been 700 as far as I knew. $650 for carrier version and 700 for unlocked from HTC and gpe

Was $649.99 for the first week. At least that's what I paid for my unlocked. Sucks that they raised the price.

Yep, was $649 for the unlocked version I bought last week direct from HTC. Too bad they jacked it up by $50, but maybe it's a sign demand is strong. If so, it would be a good sign for the financially struggling company.

Doesn't matter who they are for; that's not the issue.
UNLOCKED phones are for everybody.
It's just tough to have to cough up another 50 bucks.
You think they'd have the higher price for early adapters, then when the mainstream come on board, cut them a break. Maybe it's a new strategy: when Samsung comes out with a new Galaxy Series phone, raise the price on HTC!

Hmmmm...wonder why HTC struggles?
I'm being cynical, but that just seems like fuzzy logic.
