PRL update?

I have the Nexus. My PRL has not changed since I got the phone in January. It is still on 15109. Has there been an update? If so, how do I get it?

From what I understand, it will update on its own, either when rebooted or by reinserting the sim card.

You can also save *28899 as a contact and dial it.

I don't believe that the PRL gets updated on LTE devices.
Dialing the update number does nothing from the Nexus.

There are plenty of threads where users stated their devices were dialing *28899 on its own, and just as many threads about saving *28899 as a contact.

*28899 can be used to activate a CDMA device but can not be used for LTE activation and has a chance of disabling your SIM card requiring a replacement. LTE devices activate carrier side and require no end user input for PRL updates. My Nexus was activated in CA before getting shipped to me in MI and had the 15109 PRL but changed within 3 days to 52686 PRL.
