When I share (email) a picture from the gallery, it attaches as a 5 digit number with no extension. Not sure where the 5 digits come from since the actual file name is a lot longer.

Using Stock gallery and tried 3rd party ones too.

Any ideas?

Are these photos locally stored on your phone, or in your cloud Google+/Picasa albums?

Have you tried starting in the Email or Gmail app and attaching the photo from there, instead of starting in the Gallery? (Or vice-versa, if that's what you're already doing.)

Hi,

These are store locally.

I have used Nine and MailDroid to email, both have the same result.

I am using CameraZoom , does not happen with other camera.

Can you give us an example of the full filename of a CameraZoom photo? Perhaps there's a character in there that causes the system to cut off the filename when attaching.

Hi. I am using a custom path /storage/emualted/0/DCIM/Cameras/Cam-Zoom/

When I use default location it works but now with custom.

And is the 5 digit filename related at all?

No. It acts almost like the file is missing. The thumbnail shows up and so does the attachment

Have you tried attaching from the Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon)?

How large is the file size of the picture?

Verizon will not allow their users to attach a picture to an email via their smartphone if the picture is too large. I think the cap is set at 5 MB.
