Problem receiving emails

Hello All, Does anyone know if the Captivate can receive emails while in Standby/Sleep mode, or does the phone have to be unlocked to receive mail? Looking over at the Fascinate Forum, this seems to be a common problem. The Fascinate Forum has 2 basic suggestions: use a different Mail Client or remove all Task Managers. Both have had limited success at best. Thanks for the help

I've heard of one example where the guy/girl had to "unlock" to receive a notification....but my Captivate sends notifications for everything (a lil too much, but thats me just being lazy about turning them off) unless I power the phone off.

Basically unless your phone is faulty, your answer would be yes. The Captivate can receive emails while in Standby/Sleep.

Thanks MYK26. About 2 hours ago I uninstalled my Task Manager (Advanced Task Manager), and I've been receiving notifications since that time. I'm hoping this has solved my problem, but as I was scanning through the Fascinate Forum, I noticed that a few people had temporary success removing their Task Managers. After a few hours / days the poblem returned for many of them. Keeping my fingers crossed!
