Problem rooting coby kyros 7022

Ok so I am trying to root my kyros 7022. I just got it and it is actually for my son who will mainly be playing games on it. I figured if I rooted it I could rename or turn off the telephone apk and get more battery life out of it. So I watched the tutorial a couple of times and gave it a try but I get to the point it is installing clockworkmod and it starts to install and it get the triangle with the exclamation point in it. I have tried installing just the cwm file without the superuser file on the sd card and it does the same thing. when I download the files onto the sd card I am just opening a window to my "H" drive in my computer and this shows as my sd card in the kyros. I am then downloading the files directly from the internet to this drive. This is the same place that I put the files to put android market on the kyros so I am pretty sure I am putting them in the right place. I am pretty new to all this, just got my first smart phone a couple of weeks ago, droid bionic, and have rooted it, installed the .901 update and done the forever root mod, so i am kinda savvy lol. Any help is appreciated.
