Problem -- Top Button Would Not Turn Screen Back on

I had a weird problem that happened twice today. The phone was on but in sleep mode, and the screen was black. Pressing the top button would not turn the screen on. I pressed it multiple times. Touching the screen did nothing. I couldn't turn it off b/c you need to do it from the home screen.

I had to remove the battery and turn the phone back on for it to work. This has happened twice today.

Has anyone had this problem? Thoughts?

1. give it 15 seconds after a power off.
2. press it firmly but gently.
3. give it a chance.

But I can't power it off if I can't get the screen to go on, right?
... or do you mean wait after I pull the battery out?

Had this same problem Caryniam8... Happened to me when I woke up this morning. Black screen but it was that illuminated black... know what I mean? Like it was on but on black. Power button did nothing...

Had to pull the battery and wait a few seconds. powered it back on and all was good. Still has me worried that it might happen again in the future.

I have a couple little problems. 3 to be exact. Audio jack furbs up a little bit. Kinda get sketchy. Little bit of light leak. And the power screen today.

Might do an exchange just to be on the safe side. I'm going to contact sprint!

That sounds like an OS crash or something -- your software stack was possibly completely dead and unresponsive ...

Same thing happened today for the first time for me... unfortunately I'm not smart (or stupid) enough to have any real hypothesis why!

that's odd, i've had this happen but it happens only when i'm transferring files. When i put it in disk drive mode and the screen turns off, then i have to wait until the file transfers are complete before i can turn the screen back on, if the screen is on while i'm transfering files i can continue doing stuff on it. but the second i turn the screen off it will not allow me to turn it back on until the file transfer is complete.

if it's in disk drive and i'm not transfering anything it seems to work fine.

idk if it's a bug or the way its inteded... but doesn't really bother me.

ive had this happen several times and it has always happened when I've unlocked the phone, forgot why i unlocked it, then locked it. then remembered why i unlocked it and when i go to unlock it again it stays black. I then have to pull the battery out.

Only happens for me when I back out of the screen before my screen can catch up with it while changing my wallpaper.
