Using Quadbeat 3 and Xiamomi Hybrid IEM - both have 3 button Android controls. After awhile the controls get "stuck" stop working after awhile. This is with PowerAmp and stock player. It's really annoying not being able to pause, skip tracks, adjust volume etc.
It may be a PowerAmp issue since that is my primary player.

The Quadbeat 3 are pretty amazing by the way. They didn't come with my phone (US carrier version).

Any idea what is going on or how to diagnose, other than observation?

Not sure how to diagnose it, but it might be the app. I had a similar issue with Samsung headphones on an S7 Edge. Turns out it was a bug in Spotify (headphone controls stopped responding after a while, but only after I used Spotify). A couple updates later (of Spotify, not the phone) and the issue was gone.

So I'd try to use the headphones without PowerAmp and see if the issue doesn't present itself. Not sure if you know how long it takes for them to stop working; if you do, then try going into Safe Mode and playing music for that time. If the issue is gone, then it's definitely a 3rd party app that you've downloaded.

Good idea. I don't care for the default LG music app much but will give that a try for diagnosing problem.

Update - looks like the Quadbeat 3 was defective. Crossing my fingers it was that and not the V10's audio jack.

Still happening with another earphone...

Well, glad you found the issue! Hopefully that does resolve it! :D

It's still happening. Maybe an unrelated app is causing the problem. The only fix is a reboot but still need to isolate the problem. If nobody else has the issue (I assume other V10 users have earphones with in-line android controls and use PowerAmp as player). It might be (slightly) defective 3.5mm jack.

It's an intermittent problem and can't wean myself off Poweramp completely for problem solving purposes. Once the controls are unresponsive, it stays that way for all players until reboot. Killing the player app isn't enough.

The easiest way to check if it's a Poweramp or V10 issue is to test the headphones on a different phone using the same apps (if you haven't yet)
