Problem with accuracy of keyboard touch

I have noticed when I am texting, if I try to press the period (.), it keeps reading that I am hitting the m button instead. I am clearly NOWHERE near the m...in fact a solid few mm below, and squarly over the period button, but still I get multiple m's instead of .....
This is the most prominent example I have noticed....but it seems there are accuracy issues with a bunch of letters when I am texting. Is there any update I can run? Or ANYTHING I can do?? I am starting to hate this phone because texting is just becoming incredibly PAINFUL. I actually said I miss my blackberry at one point.

I went from a Blackberry QWERTY to the S3 and I grabbed SwiftKey. It's WORTH the money. As for your issue. not sure, could been to warranty the phone. Try grabbing the FREE version of SwiftKey first, see if that corrects the issue?

Try using another keyboard... like the poster above said... SwiftKey is a great keyboard.

I've got SwiftKey and found a world of difference with it ...... I have big ole fingers and not much on typing either ...but with Swift I fly .... for a 58 yo that's saying alot !

Just fixed that problem on my S3 with help from a Samsung tech.
Settings
Application Manager
look under ALL for Samsung Keyboard
Clear Data

That's all it took and I'm back to having a period instead of an M.
