Problem with contact list on Motorola G5s

When I get phone calls from someone on my contact list sometimes it shows the name of the caller and sometimes just the number. Can I change it so that I always get the name of the caller?

Are you sure that the number of the caller you see in the notice and the number in your contact list are exactly the same? (Having a + in front of the number is enough to make the phone not recognize the caller - and some carriers sent a + sign in front of the number, even in the US, where it almost never makes sense.)

Also, if you have more than one number for a caller, only one of them will be recognized as that caller.
