Question problem with dictation

a year ago, dictation on my android phone worked pretty well - it did NOT insert punctuation, so I just had to say "Period" or "comma" and it worked fine.

Since then, there was an "upgrade" - which made it much worse. Now, it randomly inserts punctuation, it randomly ends sentences, and when I say "Question mark" it types out the words "Question mark" instead of a " ? " -

frankly my dear, it stinks!

is there any way to adjust this or fix this?

this is the Samsung SM-A536U phone.

I'm using the default keyboard - all phone keyboards are kind of a disaster for me, my hands are way too big to type comfortably, which is why I rely on the dictation feature.

So yeah if using Samsung go to settings>general management>scroll to spell correct and toggle Google's then back out one and go to list of keyboard turn on Google typing and turn off anything Samsung related typing and your Samsung keyboard should be good to go as Samsung version not that great
