Since there is no ffc on the Captivate, yes that is a problem . Can you elaborate?

Some custom roms for the i9000 has the buttons there for it, but it obviously will not work. Referring to that?

This is an easy fix. Simply enter the camera app, and then turn your phone 180 degrees so the back is facing you. BAM, front facing camera.
