Problem with Google Now Launcher

I've got this new G4 and I'm trying to get my clock app onto the main Google Now Launcher page to show the time in big numbers when the phone is unlocked. This G4 is on 5.1.1 Lollipop. With my previous G3 on KitKat I just took the app, swiped it left and it put it on the main page. Now on the G4 when I try to do that it just puts the app icon on the second page. If I try and swipe the icon left from there it just bumps into the left side of the screen. I can still move it up to the top of the page to delete it from the launcher but that is all I can do with it. Did the functions of the launcher change from Kitkat to Lollipop? How can I fix this?

Which clock app? Does the app still show as having a registered widget? Long press an empty part of the homescreen to get to the list.

Transparent Clock & Weather app. It was in the list and long pressing it did the trick. Now that I think of it that might have been the same way I got it over on the G3.

Thanks for that.
