Problem with music stopping.

My music has now stopped playing for about a second at random points. Mainly when I move the phone or when I am playing a game. It only happens when I am using ear/headphones and I have tried different ones, even the ones I got with the phone. I just got a few days ago and I'm worried there might be a problem with the plug - in.

Check to make sure there isn't any debris in the headphone jack. Use a damp toothpick to root around, or a can of compressed air to blow it out.

I tried the toothpick one and I didn't find anything. Does that mean the plug - in is damaged?

The pausing may be due to inappropriate signaling in the headphone jack, since it is presumably compatible with headphones that have remote controls (including pause). The jack could be faulty, but make sure the headphone plug is all the way in and fits snugly. If it's not all the way in, then it's possible that subtle movements can trigger the wrong signal.
