problem with notification tone

I cant change my notification ringtone.when i select a different one it just stays stuck on the same tone.I have tried to delete it but cant find it in any folders.It is a tone took from a song but it is not in the media file,or ringtone file.PLEASE HELP

On your sdcard, go into the folder named "Media" and make 3 new folders.
Ringtones
Notifications
Alarms

Put whatever files you want in these folders and they will read as system "tones."
Just make sure you put whatever ones in the right folder.
