So I have EB13 and hard-reset to recalibrate my battery and fix bugs. I signed with my primary google account (a Umail account for school). Whenever I go to restore apps, my purchased app (Need for Speed) is there. However, when I try to buy a new app, it is linked to my work email address.

I looked up help for this, but the only way it said it can be fixed is to sign in with my work e-mail FIRST upon performing a hard reset. Is there no other way to link it with my umail account?

I read that updating your Google Checkout account to the new e-mail account will update/change your account for the Google Market

so I have to go to the google checkout website to fix this? I've created a google checkout account with my primary e-mail address (the umail one) and it still prompts me with my work email.

here's what makes it even weirder....

ok...I forgot to mention that because I have a Umail account, Google checkout made me create a new Gmail account to buy my Need for Speed game. So I created a gmail account. Now, when I sign in with my Umail account after hard resetting and opening market, it still shows Need For Speed (as the only app, besides Gmail and Youtube, etc.) as being purchased even though I signed in with my UMAIL account and not the gmail account I purchased the game with. If I go to Google Checkout, I can see where I bought it under my Gmail account. If I go to Google checkout under my UMAIL account, nothing is there.

Also, when I sign into the market on the website with EITHER account, it says I don't have any devices linked to my account.

i "fixed" it....although it's ridiculous that I had to do it this way...

i had to hard reset and sign into my umail first, THEN my gmail BEFORE my work account. now when I go to the market and purchase an app, it lists my gmail as the purchasing account.
