problems after update phone shuts off on its own

I recently got the HTC vivid I've had the phone for about 3 months. I just updated the phone and now everyday/every night the phone shuts off turns back on says It's updating but the none of my connections work WiFi or network I have to take the battery out then turn the phone back on. And I always send the error report to HTC but obviously the problem continues. How do I fix my phone? It's definitely very/extremely annoying!

More than likely the only recourse on that is a full factory reset. Did you buy it used?
