Problems initiating Calls

Anyone else having issues with trying to MAKE calls? I select a number to call (my wife for example) and the screen changes to show the call in progress but it never rings. Then I get upset and say something awful to the phone and I can hear myself echoing back to my earpiece.

ugh.

Try the call a few times and it will eventually go through.

Frustration...

Have you tried restarting the phone?

I've been trying to remember to completely shut the phone down once a week to reboot it.

...but like I said, eventually the call will go through without doing that. It's a frustrating thing when you just need to make a quick call.

No one else is seeing this?

i was having that issue, but i did a battery pull, restarted the phone, hadnt seen it...

since though, i've rooted and rommed it....

I'm still seeing this problem a lot....it's 50/50 whether my outgoing calls actually ring or not.

I'm now in the habit of snapping my fingers into my earpiece microphone after I initiate a call. If I hear the snaps echoing back at me then I know it's a bad call and I hang up.

I'm using a Sony stereo earphone/microphone setup that was intended for the iPhone/iPod....but I've had the same problem using the phone w/o and even with the speaker phone.
