problems looking at pictures

I was wondering if anyone has problems viewing a picture they just took. It takes quite a while sometimes for my pictures to become viewable after I take them. I get the smaller version in the camera roll. I am unable to select and zoom them for a few moments. If I do i get a blank screen. One time I was never able to select the pictures, it didn't even save them.
