problems with bookmarks

I am having problems with bookmarks on my samsung galaxy note 10.1. If I go to my bookmark page (using Internet Explorer) then my internet shuts down with a message that the internet has stopped working . My wifi connection is just fine and I can go right back in and go type in a site to go to - but if I try to use the bookmarks again - it happens all over again.
Plus, many of my bookmarks disappear. Any ideas or suggestions?
