Problems with Calendar Apps and Gmail

Ok forgive me if this has been covered but I could not find it. I have used 'Business Calendar" and 'Jorte Calendar' along with the stock one. All of them sync fine to my google calendar in gmail except none of them poplulate the 'birthdays/anniversary stuff that I have set up on the google calendar site. I have the gmail std calendar and holiday and contacts birthdays/anniversary calendars selected on google and the calendar that comes up there shows everything. Best I could get out of the others I tried is std calendar and holidays except for the Business Calendar would show birthdays but not anniversaries. Am I doing something wrong or is that as good as it can be for now?

maybe 'show in list' has to be checked on the calender settings www page?

Thanks I double checked and all of them are shown in the list. Seems it worked fine until I got the 4.1.57 update , now for some reason the calendar or for that matter sometimes my contacts dont update when I add them to the phone .

This was ridiculously frustrating for me too. I did an export of a contact so I could get the CSV file format, then I entered all my contacts via spreadsheet and imported them (including birthday).
None of my birthdays synced up either.
I went and viewed one of my contact's detail in Google Contacts and it interpreted my birthday field as a 'custom' field and it had the label 'birthday'.
BUT ... it had another birthday field called 'birthday'.
I copied one of the dates into that field and viola! birthdays showed up in my Jorte calendar.
Lucky for me I had less than 30, so I just manually copied them all.
