Problems with Citibank Check Deposit After Feb Update?

Out of the blue, my Citi mobile app won't take a picture of a check for a mobile check deposit. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, checked permisions. Everything seems OK. The only thing that's changed on the phone in the past few days is the February update.

Anyone else use Citi mobile for check deposits post Feb update?

BTW, it works fine on my spare 3XL (which, obviously, hasn't been updated).

I don't use that app, but try also clearing the app cache/data for that app in Settings>Apps, then force stop it, and then open it again.

Did that, and uninstalled reinstalled with the latest version. It starts to take a picture, but doesn't display it in the app.

It's not just you. I've experienced the same issue. I've already alerted Citibank to the issue.

Bank apps seem to be more susceptible to device-specific glitches than other kinds of apps, especially when it comes to the ability to deposit checks. I would guess it has to do with the subtleties of interacting with the camera and security APIs, but I certainly don't have further insights into those kinds of details.

I have the same problem following the recent update for my Pixel 7. I tried re-installing citibank app but no luck.

The workaround until it is fixed: There is a carefully hidden 'capture manually' link on the pane showing the camera image and alignment lines. Click that link and you can manually take the front and back image. Appears to work this way...

I had tried that too. It did not work for me...I let Citibank know that.

Yeap, same issue. Tried manually capturing the image, but no luck. Installed app on my Samsung tablet and that worked. But hope either citi or google will fix that fast.

I managed to get a check deposited by using old Pixel 2 phone. Thinking this might be a Pixel 7 issue? Still cant use it deposit a check since update

Not just a 7 issue, I have it on my 6. After 45 mins of getting bounced around on the phone with Citi, I got to a tech support group that acknowledged that it is a known issue (I believe with the February update) and that it's being addressed. At least I can fire up my 3XL to deposit checks as needed.

The manual capture worked, thanks!

I have been having this same issue...and was glad to find this thread to know if wasn't just me! My local Citi branch manager reached out to tech support and tells me it is a known issue and they expect to have it resolved by March 3. Fingers crossed.
