Problems with gmail and music streaming after marshmallow update

Updated my Galaxy tab S2 with marshmallow but ever since my gmail does not work. I get messages such as offline, cannot sign in, I cannot get new messages or sync. I am also finding that when I stream music my tablet keeps going to sleep. Any one else having these issues?
