Problems with Google Daydream View and S8+

I have an S8+ that was purchased directly from Samsung (it's on Cricket's network) which I've just updated OTA to firmware nrd90m,g955usqu1aqef

Daydream does not show up in the google play store. If I use my PC to go to the google play store it says none of my devices are compatible. I tried side loading it (Daydream 1.14.180313013 april 3, 2018 build) and when I run it, it says my phone is incompatible. It also doesn't give me any option to pair the remote nor does it show the Daydream as an available device (only cardboard variants or allows a QR code scan)

I'm really not sure what I'm missing here. I thought I did my homework when deciding whether to buy this or the Gear VR and read all over that the S8+ is compatible with the Daydream.

Any help would be appreciated. Been googling for the past 2 hours. Thanks!

I gave up. Google has a page with Daydream support contact info. I called and was told they no longer offer support for Daydream. I returned them as I could not find any avenue to get support.
