Problems with rooting

OK,

I'm trying to root my N1 using the method in the link below;

Root download:
Root Android 2.2 Froyo on Nexus One with Quick Rooter

Instructions;
Download Android 2.2 Froyo for Nexus One & Manually Update/Install Now

After the final step, i get an error message that reads... Failed to open /sdcard/update.zip (no such file or directory)

Can anyone please help?

OK, i renamed it again, and it found the update. But now i have a new error... "signature verification failed instillation aborted"

How hard is this supposed to be!!!!!

OK, i am now rooted! Used the one click root from XDA.

^ your best bet. I rooted using that and it was hassle free.

Also, if you want to get custom roms and want them as easy to install as this root, get Rom Manager. Even the free edition allows you to get Cyanogenmod and revert to stock with couple taps
