Problems with sending video through gmail app?

I'm fairly new to this so excuse my ignorance haha. Anyway, I've been having problems sending videos that are fairly short through Gmail. It stays in my outbox forever and won't send! I read somewhere that someone had a similar problem but then found out it was because he had given root permission to a certain app, but didn't specify which one. Could it be that I have given root permission to an app that has messed up my gmail messages or something completely different? Help please! thank you !
