ok i followed the directions for simpleroot for ota.
i was doing it alongside with the video. i hit step 1. this was almost instant for me while as on the video it took about a minute or two. this led me to believe i did something wrong and instead of doing the next step i made a bad decision and closed the window and started over.
when i hit step 1 it says error: device not found about 5 times and then it says push complete. i wasn't comfortable that it said device not found but since it said it was complete i went along with the factory reset and step 2. at this point it keeps saying device not found. i went through all the steps and no root. i gave up and decided to try again the next day.
the next day on a totally different computer, i re setup simple root and did step 1. it said device not found. i changed the sd card, device not found. i formatted the sd card, device not found. i factory reset the phone, device not found.
today i went back to the first computer which is a work comp and tried it again for the heck of it, and the same thing.
i am at a total loss. i have no idea what to do next b/c i cannot even get step one completed. i can't root here at home b/c my mac is old and can't support sdk so unrevoked for mac is a no go. i have been stuck using my work and a friend's computers.
i could try unrevoked for windows on one of my alternative comps but i want full root so i can flash roms.
help!
