Problems With Swype

I have downloaded the Swype Beta to my GS3 and have selected it as my default keyboard, but it still doesn't appear to be working. I am still getting that crappy faux swipe that came pre-installed. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Open a text message, and start typing, in the notification bar there is a keyboard. Open your notifications and select that, from there choose Swype as your input method.
