Problems with YouTube on my Moto G

As anyone else ran into this problem on there Android? When I'm on YouTube on my Xbox One or 360 and use my phone as the remote for the YouTube app not Xbox smart glass. The video plays and I can control it when I hit home on my Android it shows the notification with the video still playing on Xbox and I can control it my pausing and closing it out. But a majority of the time if I start going on Facebook and doing other things on my phone while it runs in the background when I end up going back to the YouTube app by either hitting the notification or tapping the app I have to reconnect it. Like the app itself loses connection when I get back onto the YouTube app. Is this Android managing the ram and closing it? Or a bug? Please help!
