I'm in the UK.

Is the exynos equivalent to the snapdragon?

Could reviews declare which processor?

So tempted with the 10+ ceramic but not paying that money for a second rate chip.

Thoughts?

Neither are second rate.

Second rate was maybe to harsh.

The 9810 couldn't compete with the 845 last year and with the assumed massive improvements with the 855, will the 9820 get close this year?

They we're about even last year, actually, if not the exynos pulling ahead.

We need to be honest here, the Exynos just isn't at the level of what it was back in 2015 where it was leaps and bounds ahead of Snapdragon, this time around it's a little behind. Qualcomm have made great strides ahead of Samsung, remember the 855 is a 7nm SoC while the Exynos is a 8nm SoC, so the Snapdragon will be a tad more efficient.

How things have changed, a few years ago Samsung were ahead of Qualcomm in chip size, now the rolls have reversed.

Actually, the 9820 is basically on par with the 855, and much faster in single core performance. The only area the 855 has an advantage is the GPU.

As the exynos is the only game in town in the UK this is a little worrying.

We already pay through the nose in the UK so doing so for an inferior processor will leave a sour taste.

Will be keeping a close eye on this before mine ships.

It is not inferior. As I said above, the two benchmark basically evenly.

My device will be the SD 855
we finally beat the Exynos this year and last ...but hey the Exynos has faster OS/security updates then the SD 855

Snapdragon is the better chip this year, just like last year. Will you actually notice a difference? Doubtful.

Also don't mistake that for me saying I like the Exynos better. I remember the S6 and Note 9 I had with the older Exynos and those phones were garbage after a month.

I always envy the Exynos just happy SD855 is improved
