So my plan is to add my wife to my project fi plan now that her contract with verizon is up. This was my plan a few months ago. So the second the 3's went live i ordered two pixel 3 xl's directly from the google store, selecting the project fi option before checkout. I plan on trading in my 2 XL. Then about a half hour after i ordered both of my phones i get an email from project fi about their promotion of buying two phones and adding a member to an existing account and getting $799 in credit. Perfect, I meet all criteria, I thought. So i check the terms of the promotion and you have to purchase them through fi.google.com, not store.google.com. I though well ill cancel my order and order them through fi and maybe miss a few days from my original delivery date. So i go to order the phones from fi, still keeping my other order with a delivery of 10/22 just in case. When i go to checkout at the fi store i see the expected date of 11/15. WTH? So I didnt order them through fi and try and talk to customer service about this. I dont want to lose my "place in line" so to speak. I try and convince them to just move my store order over to fi, they cant do that. I try and convince them to cancel my order through the store and let me place a new order but keep my original ship date, they cant do that. I tried this many different times through the store customer service and fi customer service and nobody can help me out. So i bite the bullet, canceled my original order and ordered two through fi so i can get the $799 in credit but i have to wait an extra month to get my phones. Cant complain too much though, with my trade in and the credits, my net for two pixel 3 Xl's will be $980, $440 a phone.

Still disappointed though because i see preorders through the store still have an expected delivery around 10/19 or 10/22 but the fi orders are still 11/15 today. Why would the fi orders be going out so much later than the google store orders? I mean, they are going to be coming from the same warehouse, same manufacturer.

Long story short, anyone trying to get the fi credit make sure you order through fi, not the google store.

Yea sometimes this happens. A couple years ago I pre-ordered an iPhone 7 Plus from Apple, and was in the first wave of device deliveries. HOWEVER I found out the next day that if I got it from T-Mobile, it was free! (well a 649 dollar credit, paid in monthly installments, BUT still a free phone!) I had to cancel my Apple order, and then place one with T-Mobile, and thus got a much later delivery date. Ah well, but still free phone! So it was worth it. Same for you I suspect. ;)

Sorry to hear this. I goofed at first and ordered through the Google store but it wouldn't go onto my Fi bill. So I cancelled that and ordered mine through Fi later in the afternoon. Now I actually have an earlier delivery date than most (10/16-10/17). I've given up trying to figure out their supply chain. It seems they had the same issues for the OG Pixels

Whew...you had me scared. My order confirmation says it is from

But Project FI "letterhead" appears in the email, and I just confirmed through FI chat that my orders were placed through FI.

Now..I still do have later dates.

I signed up for Fi yesterday and bought two Pixels to get the BOGO deal and my ship date on both phones is Nov 8-9. My wife is NOT happy since she's now using a 2013 Moto X with a cracked screen that is slower than dirt. How are the Fi orders getting shipped out so much later than devices from Verizon or Google? Kinda BS since Google clearly would rather you sign up on their own provider.

Oh, not to mention the Fi sign-up process was down yesterday afternoon, only a day after they release their new phones...

Yeah I know, that was frustrating too. I was on the phone with Fi and Google Store customer service, and they both explained that they have different customers and use different supply chains and different this and that. So I canceled my google store order and ordered through fi and wouldnt you know, the fi order is handled through the google store. The only difference is that Fi header. They explained many times that i couldnt just transfer my google store order to a Fi order. Was frustrating but hey its a heck of a deal to just wait a little longer for.

Not sure how you have any room to complain. Nothing Google or Project Fi did caused your "delivery date to mess up". You ordered from the incorrect store.

Thread title is misleading.

Was not aware of the deal until half an hour after my preorder when Fi emailed me. Yes, I made the order hence my unknowing mistake. I have Fi but I usually just order my phones through the google store. I did not say "Project Fi messed up my delivery date." Just voicing my frustration, it was an unknowing mistake and I was trying to help other people that might have been in the same boat. Was not trying to mislead. If a mod wants to change the title i guess go ahead.

I did not say "Project Fi messed up my delivery date."

LOL except that's the title of this thread you started...

I think maybe we should be more concerned that ordering through GOOGLE'S Project Fi gets you a phone 3 weeks later than everyone else for some reason.

Have you checked with family or friends for a loaner phone for her? We have a Note 2, and an iPhone 5c that make the rounds of my family if someone breaks a screen or something.

I meant having to switch orders to get deal messed up my order date. Sorry for the youtube clickbait everyone! ( like i said Mod please change title if necessary) I ordered before I knew about the deal, it was my fault.

Like you said my real concern is the 3 week difference. Maybe i didn't convey that well enough. and plus google store preorders still have a shipping date of 10/22 as of right now for the same phones I ordered.
