As of two or three days ago, my proximity sensor is not registering anything. It doesn't shut off the screen when I'm in a call and I've tested with androsensor and it doesn't register anything. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a way to fix it?

Nope no protector. Just stopped working. I have a theory that maybe the phone got too hot and it fried the sensor but I have no way of knowing.

I had this same problem a few months back, where my phone screen would not turn on when I pulled my phone away from my ear.
I ended up doing a warranty exchange with Google, so that is what I would recommend.

Assuming you don't have a case on the phone that might be interfering with the sensor, I'd try a factory reset first...Google is probably going to make you do on the phone anyway if you call them for warranty exchange. If that doesn't fix it, get it replaced.

Could some kind person please tell me where the proximity sensor is in my Nexus 4? It works, but it's erratic.
Maybe I'm covering it with a soft plastic case. Thanks...

the proximity sensor is in the left upper side at the top of the display (the two holes)

UPDATE: I was using a soft plastic case which wraps around all 4 edges of the phone. I replaced this with another case which leaves the top area open. Voila... Proximity Sensor works fine now ;-)
