Proximity sensor issues after update

Before the Update Verizon sent out my phone worked fine when it was on a call.

Now the proximity sensor doesn't work, so my face is touching buttons when I'm on a call. But also the phone will go black like the screen shut off for the sensor but when i move the phone from my face it stays black and makes me power on the screen via the hardware button, unlock the phone, and re-enter the phone app to hang up the call.

I never had either of these issues before the update.

Anyone else having these issues??

I am having the same problem!
Tried different settings and launchers. I also tried with and without screen protectors!!
Screen goes blank on calls and only comes back after hitting the power button or the other caller hangs up. I have my power button set to hang up the call, but there is a lag!

This also happens as soon as I answer a call, the screen will turn off!!
I also tried with different lighting, nothing helps.

Good news guys, I found how to resolve my issue. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S i9000

So, connect your 3.5 headphone jack to your phone, compose and call a number (normally the screen won't go black) then press your home button (having your call still active in the background) and disconnect the 3.5 jack ... and voil?, it works, next calls the screen is not likely to go black.

Hope I helped some of you because it was so much annoying ... i got really angry with my phone.
