proximity sensor issues ... HTC One

so i have been having issues with my phone screen awakening while i am talking on the phone and my ear inadvertently switching airplane mode on and disconnecting my call.

i am not sure if it is a bug with the sensor or how i hold the phone to my ear

for instance, if the phone is held to my left ear....i will hold the phone sort of tilted with the outer part fo the phone resting on my temple...kind of at a 45 degree angle i guess...basically my ear doesn't really rest on the phone..nor does my face...just the far away corner

i suspect that this position is allowing light in and confusing the sensor and my screen turns on

any ideas how i can remedy this without changing the style in which i use my phone?

i am coming from an iPhone 4s and didn't have this issue...not sure if it has to do with the size difference in the phones

but i do LOVE everything else about my HTC One and would hate to have to choose another phone because of this

I am not having any issues with mine. Seems to work like it should.

Mine does that too from time-to-time.
I have it fully pressed against my face and some how mute it or turn on speaker phone mode.

Hi,

I am having the same issues and it is getting worse. I have tried downloading some Proximity Sensor apps but these have not helped.
Did you fin a solution

Mine don't work at all but it doesn't bother me because I don't usually hit buttons while I am taking on the phone.

Are you left handed when using your phone? I have the same issue with my iPhone when I use my left hand.

(I came across your thread because I'm looking into the HTC One (Ironic as iPhone 5s release tomorrow) I'm tying to find info on where the hidden sensors are located..)
