purchase droid 3 from amazon or ebay?

with Verizon's announcement of eliminating unlimited data plans when you upgrade to 4g or when you renew your contract (possibly in the summer) I am thinking of getting a different phone before that happens. My contract doesn't end until October so i cannot update until then. I currently have a Droid X but am thinking of buying a Droid 3 and going back to the keyboard.

has anyone purchased a new or used phone thru Amazon or Ebay and if so were the phones okay? And if I'm looking for keyboard, are you happy with Droid 3?

I have bought phones from ebay without issue, but either one can be a crapshoot. Which offers the most protection if it isnt as advertised/DOA/bad esn?

You might want to look at the stratosphere as well...just sayin

Ive bought off of amazon and gotten a bad esn too which phone was useless...contacted seller and he replaced
