Purchased EVO 6/18 and it CRACKED on 6/19

I looooooooooove my HTCEvo purchased it yesterday, and today it dropped and cracked! They will not give me another one at the store, I have to go through their insurance company and purchase another one for $100. Man Oh Man! I'm so mad, I had to laugh to keep from crying!

It happens. Don't worry about it too much. People always loss their phones or stop and crack them.
$100 to replace it through the insurance company is actually a good price.

Next time, buy a case as it seems like 1 day without it can prove deadly.

Yea, the wait time for it will not be fun. I've been paranoid of something happening to mine just because of the wait time right now.

the insurance company will over-night it at no charge..obviously you won't get it sunday but it will be there on monday. did you go to a sprint corporate store? my niece broke her evo that i got her and they said they can replace the screen for $120 right there. (just another option if you don't want to wait.)

The problem is though, they dont have any Evos in stock, and parts for them as well.

Most TEP phones are returns that are reconditioned. In my company we had about 10 returns out of 1200 sales. If those numbers hold true as a company average then there wont be a huge supply of refurbs.

Unlike the Palm Pre lol... I think everyone who got one last year went through 3-4 each before they got one they kept. The return rate was rediculous.

Im sure HTC and Sprint worked out something on the backend with Assurion, but with the current demand of the EVO i wouldn't expect it to be overnight.

This actually happened to me too.... Concrete and evo screen do not agree.

Sprint let me use that $100 deductible towards accessories though.

yeah thats not as bad as mine.. mine was in my scrub pocket at the hospital (stupid mistake on my part)... leaned over to wash my hands at the sink, evo flew out like a bat out of a cave... SCREEN FIRST landed on the edge of the sink and spiderweb the ENTIRE screen... the touchscreen still worked tho, and it took a few days to bleed out but oh well there goes another 100 dollars lol...

EDIT: for the person that asked about the insurance process..it was actually less painfull than the drop itself.. just have to fax in one form + a copy of a gov photo id.. and within 24hrs they called me saying the order for a new one was placed and expect it in 10-15 days b/c of backorder.. not bad

Where did you purchase your EVO? I have been unable to find an EVO ANYWHERE. (I live in Northern NJ and work in NYC).

Do the claim through their website ( Welcome Sprint Customers ) it is easier and pretty quick.
