Purchased from Samsung Instead of Carrier

I don't buy unlocked phones. But I definitely get why people do. I just purchased the Galaxy 4 directly from Samsung. I came from the Active 2, which I got from AT&T. Different experience...and not just because it's Wear OS.

There's hardly any apps on my new watch. I was like..."where's all the AT&T stuff???" I had to remember.... it's not there, because I didn't buy it from AT&T. No junk. My watch is so "clean". Lol. I thought something was wrong.

I don't know how to act. I have to go find apps that I actually want.

Thanks for listening.

Yeah...I know. I was just talking about how there's no "junk" on my watch. I like it. It makes me think I should have gotten my phone directly from Samsung.

+1 for purchasing from Sam instead of carrier. I’ve done both devices both ways and unlocked from Sam is FAR superior. No carrier bloat and fast updates. Win.
Highly recommend this method.

So actually, unlike with phones, the Galaxy Watch 4 you get from a carrier is exactly the same as what you get from Samsung. I know because I bought my watch from Samsung but had to return it because of a defective screen. Long story short, I purchased a new watch from T-Mobile down the road because it was less complicated than doing a Samsung exchange. The watch is exactly the same; no carrier apps or other bloatware on the T-Mobile version. I guess T-Mobile is too lazy to develop Wear OS apps.

I think that's true with the watch you get from AT&T too, but I could be wrong.

Seems like I remember my Galaxy Active 2 having some junk on it. Maybe I'm wrong. But my Watch 4 looks awfully empty.

Next time around, that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to try to keep this phone for two years. Lol. Right.
