Purchasing EVO

I have a quick question that I'm hoping someone can help me with. I'm going to purchase an evo by adding a line on my current account for $9.99 a month. However, I would like to use the evo on a different phone number on the same account. Will I immediately be able to transfer the different phone number to the evo, or is there some kind of a waiting period where it needs to stay on the new account/phone number for a certain period of time?

Thanks.

I did the same thing. There's a wait. If you add the line and want the $100 rebate, you have to wait up to 8 weeks for the rebate. The rebate is based off of the phone #. If you switch the number before the check comes, then, when the rebate team looks up your # and sees the old phone on the number, then, they can and will void your #...per the rebate team and my local store. So, I waited...and ended up keeping the new number that they gave me.

It's $20 a month for an additional line for the Evo (or Epic)

If you want to do an immediate swap get the phone at BB or Radio Shack. That's what I do. You can buy it there and immediately swap it.

You're right... $10 for the line and $10 for the additional "rich media" option.

Thank you for the replies. I knew about the extra $10 charge, I list forgot to mention it in my first post. I guess I'll do it through bestbuy then. While we're on the subject has anyone cancelled the extra line after a month? Besides paying the ETF are there any other penalties, such as the phone having a bad esn?

Why not just buy the phone outright for all that hassle, if you pay for the phone and the ETF you are already paying over $500

It's for my wife and she wants the white one. If I go through Bestbuy I'll get it for $199 plus ETF= $399. Buying the white one outright through Bestbuy is $600.

i would like to see all of these "how to purchase an EVO" and "how do i get an EVO" etc. threads all combined and stickied into one craptastic thread.
